Zambo City logs 3.6K Covid-19 recoveries

The Zamboanga City local health office announced Monday that at least 3,668 patients have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in this city as of Saturday (Jan. 30).

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said 38 new recoveries were recorded from January 28 until January 30.

Miravite said the 3,668 recoveries account for 92.79 percent of this city’s 3,953 Covid-19 cases recorded since March last year.

The high recovery rate is attributed to the low active severe cases, which is 3.6 percent of the total cases. The remaining cases are 27.4 percent mild and 69 percent asymptomatic.

Miravite said that the recoveries include 3,070 community-acquired; 317 locally stranded individuals (LSIs); 190 city reformatory center (CRC)-related; 26 detainees; 25 returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs); 20 authorized persons outside residence (APOR); 17 Bureau of Jail Management and Penology personnel; and three returning residents from Malaysia.

The city currently has 102 active cases, with 183 deaths since March last year.

Meanwhile, Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has directed security forces to intensify enforcement of the 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew hours, noting that the threat from Covid-19 remains unabated.
