12 suspects fall, P1.6-M shabu seized in Zambo

Police arrested two alleged big-time drug pushers and 10 others and seized some PHP1.6 million worth shabu, a grenade, and a firearm seized in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city, police officials said Friday.

Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) director, identified the arrested “big-time” drug suspects as Ryan Abilla Serato, 26; and Alkidar Sadang Unaid, 31.

Ylagan said Serato was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the Zamboanga City Police Office’s (ZCPO) Station 6 operatives around 4:30 p.m. Thursday inside a shopping mall in Barangay Tetuan here.

Ylagan said seized from Serato were some 115 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of PHP1.4 million, 84 pieces of PHP1,000 bills boodle money topped with one genuine PHP1,000 bill as marked money.

Ylagan said Unaid was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation by the ZCPO’s Station 9 operatives around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Sitio Bugguk Paniran, Barangay Kasanyangan here.

He said recovered from Unaid’s possession were some 20 grams of suspected shabu estimated worth  PHP136,000 and PHP200 marked money.

The ZCPO identified the other arrested suspects as Erald Gonzales Lim, 36; Alfidal Ahiyani Ampalan, 31; Alnamer Udding Amin, 36; John Kevin Perez, 27; Carlo Edward Delos Reyes Gonzales, 29; Yashier Idjas Sarabi, 21; Richard Jimena Bernardo, 44; Labasir Sabandal Hamsi, 42; Almashid Habing Aidarus, 19; and, Al-Zhajid Habing Aidarus, 23.

Capt. Albin Cabayacruz, ZCPO’s Station 7 chief, said that Lim and Ampalan were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 12:45 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Guiwan, this city.

Cabayacruz said that confiscated during the anti-illegal drug operation were some PHP38,000 worth of suspected shabu and other pieces of evidence.

Cabayacruz said that Amin, Perez, and Gonzales were caught in possession of some PHP51,000 worth of illegal drugs and PHP200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation at around 6:10 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Tugbungan, this city.

He said the suspects also yielded a fragmentation grenade.

Capt. Benzar Bairulla, ZCPO’s Station 8 chief, said that Sarabi yielded some PHP2,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP500 marked money when arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation around 9:35 p.m. Thursday in Ilang-ilang Drive, Barangay Baliwasan, this city.

Bairulla said Bernardo was caught in possession of some PHP2,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money when arrested around 9:35 p.m. Thursday along MCLL Highway, Barangay Boalan here.

Maj. Chester Natividad, ZCPO’s Station 11 chief, said that Hamsi was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10:10 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Guiwan here.

Nativdad said Hamsi yielded some PHP54,000 worth of suspected shabu and other pieces of evidence.

Maj. Ramon Bautista Jr., ZCPO’s Station 4 chief, said that the two Aidarus were arrested in an anti-illegal drugs operation around 10:25 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Sangali here.

Bautista said the two were found in possession of some PHP5,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and PHP200 marked money.

The suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against them.
