The resumption of the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT)  will only allow the pick-up and disembarking of  passengers in designated areas in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

The Inter-provincial bus travel that resumed last  Saturday,January 16,2021  under the point-to-point scheme, covering only the above-mentioned areas in Region 9 will strictly follow the rule on  pick-up and drop-off of passengers in  only  said areas. 

There will be no straight bus travel to and from Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod and other cities outside region 9 yet.

This means that no passenger will be picked up or dropped off by buses in between the said areas, and passengers can only have their toilet stop in Ipil.

Passengers bound for Zamboanga City  from Pagadian can only disembark in Zamboanga City IBT, and not in any municipality in between.

There will be No more quarantine for Zambo-bound bus passengers.

Passengers who will start traveling by bus to Zamboanga City from Pagadian City, Dipolog City and Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay are not required to undergo quarantine anymore, as long as they yield a negative RT-PCR or swab test result for COVID-19.

In as far as senior citizens and children are concerned , they will be allowed to travel as long as they have complete requirements.

Rafael Derrick Evangelista III, head of the Zamboanga City Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) said that Tickets must be purchased at least two days before the travel only for those passengers with complete requirements as mandated by the destination LGU.

They don’t have to undergo quarantine, but they have to inform their barangay where they are residing in Zamboanga City for monitoring purposes,Evangelista said.

For locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and returning overseas Filipinos  (REFs) going to Zamboanga City, the basic requirements are medical certificate from their area of origin, travel authority from the PNP, coordination pass with the Zamboanga City Tourism Office, proof of residency in Zamboanga City, and the negative RT-PCR test result.

 Infants below one year old will not be required RT-PCR test. Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APORs) will only need to present their medical certificate, travel order and their company IDs, as per information released via the ZC IBT Facebook page.

According to Evangelista, the LGUs of Dipolog, Pagadian and Ipil may require other documents.

passengers shall  strictly comply with the minimum health standards at all times especially while in the buses. 

Evangelista said that  no face shield, no facemask, no travel policy will be imposed .

While Passengers who will arrive in Zamboanga with  incomplete requirements will be required to pay for their own quarantine and swab test, or in some cases be sent back to where they came from, Evangelista stressed.
